Author Valerie Wilder

Valerie’s creative side shines through her love of journaling, writing poetry, and dancing. Her earlier years included dancing on the Norfolk-based TV show Calvin Shakespear and the Get Down People, earning the title of Ms.Congeniality in Hal Jackson’s Talented Teens (1975), and serving as President of the Hospitality Ministry at First Pentecostal Church.

Valerie’s testimony is one of incredible resilience. She has overcome bullying, mental health struggles, breast cancer, other health challenges, and, most recently, the devastating loss of her son in 2023. Through it all, God has kept her, strengthened her, and positioned her to comfort and encourage others walking through seasons of deep pain and uncertainty.

Her life reflects a powerful truth: God can heal, restore, and use every part of our story for His glory.

Valerie Wilder is a devoted daughter of the Most High God and a woman gifted with the Holy Spirit-led gift of Exhortation. She is a wife of 44 years, proud mother of three, and a grandmother of eight—a role she treasures deeply.

After a fulfilling 43-year career in the Healthcare Industry, Valerie recently retired, having served as a Medical Receptionist, Medical Transcriptionist, Supervisor, and training coordinator. Her work was marked by excellence in customer service, emotional intelligence, team building, and compassionate communication. She now seeks to empower other healthcare professionals through her business by equipping them with these same skills to make a meaningful impact in patient care.

As a certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner, Valerie is passionate about helping others—especially youth—understand and manage their emotions in a way that honors God’s design. Her heart desires to guide young people toward wise decision-making and a life aligned with God’s purpose, rather than being led by destructive emotional patterns.
